Hey JT, what sad news to read.

I wouldn”t want to comment on Koh Tao, as I’ve only visited Koh Samet. What I can say is that I felt safe while I was travelling everywhere in Thailand, but I was never out late and I never drank to excess either.

When it comes to safety abroad, my thoughts are that unfortunately unexpected things do happen but that travelling responsibly and exercising caution just as you would do in your home country, can go a long way.
