Hi Nina! I’m afraid I don’t know, but worth messaging her to ask. We stayed at their guesthouse the whole time and it’s not a restaurant – just their home – but they were warm-hearted and generous people so they might be open to cooking for you.

Macedonia was beautiful and there were a lot of good things to eat – if you have time to look for them, and with a little but of luck. Ajvar is one of the best spreads to have on bread in my opinion now, I think it even beats hummus! That’s funny about burek being claimed everywhere :p

They sell ajvar in Waitrose!? No way! I actually reckon ajvar would make a really delicious pasta sauce, as well as it’s traditional spread/relish purpose. It’s basically just delicious. We made some at home, but it wasn’t as good as how the Macedonia’s do it! I really wish we’d been able to find a vegetarian cooking class in Macedonia, it would’ve been awesome to learn to make these dishes.

Really great food for vegetarians, vegans too, thank you! it will be very useful during a potential trip to Vardarska. Burek and Sarma are in fact Turkish food, but for sure it is delicious everywhere.

Glad that my laptop recommendation was a good one! Mine’s also perfect for travelling :)
