It definitely did, but things really picked up in Plovdiv and have been pretty okay in Macdeonia as well so far. I think that we’re definitely going to be eating vegan more and picking vegan options over vegetarian ones, but I’m not sure that we’re at the point of committing to a life of 100% vegan travel…

Regards to vegetables and fruit, there’s a daily fruit/veg market in town located down the steps behind Cafe Eliz (by the square) that sells good quality wares. Presently the butternut squash is in abundance and there’s always the locally farmed Bansko potatoes and cabbages. The great thing about being a veggie in Bansko is eating whatever is in season. Fresh :)
