Hey Leah, thanks for reading! Glad you liked Ometepe as much as we did :) Oh no, what went wrong in the rest of Nicaragua!? We’ve been very fortunate to have no troubles there but I’ve heard a few stories saying otherwise. Definitely wanting to hike the smaller volcano if we do get to return next year.

Nice write-up of my favorite place in Nicaragua. Well, I liked other parts of the country too but I just had horribly bad luck on most of my trip…Ometepe was the only place where everything went smoothly! But yes, totally gorgeous and plenty to do and see there. We hiked the smaller volcano and saw loads of howler monkeys! :)
