Great article, I am living in Gdl now and I love it. Another favorite of mine is to go bar hopping to all the microbreweries and then of course street food.

Looks like my kind of place. Lots of history and Tequila. The Palacio de Gobierno looks like a fun place to wander around and explore.

Hi! I’m so happy to see that you had fun in my city!

For all those who want to come, I will add something to do: Go to the garden in front of Expiatorio Church Saturday or Sunday afternoon. You’ll find food stalls from organic and vegetarian to tamales and hot dogs. At some point, the salsa lessons begins in front of a restarurant called El Fenix. If you want to learn some tropical cha cha cha steps (totally free), that’s the place.
It’s noisy, crowded and a little chaotic, but is one of the best places to be when the sun goes down over my beautiful Guadalajara

Hi Charlie, I’ve never been to Mexico yet, and just like you I’m not sure what to expect if ever I plan to go there. But I guess, every city or place has their own tourist destination, I think it’s for us travelers to unfold it. :)

I’m not entirely sure I can pronounce Guadalajara, but it seems to have plenty going on. Coronilla Street sounds like a lot of fun, maybe a bit of an antidote to the hard core culture. Happy New Year! I’m sure you’ll have a great one.
