Small Businesses in Brighton to Support During Coronavirus
Support small and local businesses in Brighton during the Coronavirus lockdown. We’ve put together a list of our favourite small and independent businesses in Brighton who are still running during the UK’s lockdown.
Whilst Coronavirus has put the world on hold, we’re based back home in Brighton. It’s a weird feeling being back and walking along the windy seafront and the empty Brighton Lanes lined with vacated shops. Usually we’d be at our favourite coffee shops, bakeries and book stores — but as we can’t be, we can do the next best thing by supporting them online.
This list covers our favourite small and local businesses in Brighton which are still partially open or delivering during the Coronavirus lockdown in the UK.
Food
Black Radish — Grocery boxes packed full of fruits, veggies, bread and cheese. You can order a box through Facebook message.
Harriet’s of Hove — This Hove-based foods shop specialises in plastic-free and plant-based products and produce. They’ve only just opened home deliveries, and you can make orders by email.
Infinity Foods — Brighton favourite, Infinity Foods are still open and operational during Coronavirus quarantine. Their store is open 9:30AM-4PM from Monday-Saturday, and 11:30AM-4PM on Sundays. Seven Cellars are based in Seven Dials and pride themselves on stocking wines from small wineries, breweries, craft distilleries and local businesses. You’ll find organic, bio-dynamic and vegan options on their website. I love their Ciu Ciu Italian red wine (but don’t buy it all, please!)
Books
City Books — What’s quarantine time without a few good books? This small bookshop on the border of Brighton and Hove are running home deliveries of books. You can even email them to ask for recommendations if you’re not sure what to read next!
Plants
Between Two Thorns — Our local plant shop that we absolutely adore. The shop are still delivering plants to your door for all BN1, BN2 and BN3 addresses on Fridays and Saturdays. They also deliver UK-wide. We’ve taken the opportunity to add some greenery to our room and ordered a beautiful fig leave plant.
