Yes, true! I guess because I’m from London it still has a small, town feel for me! Just like Valletta in Malta is the capital and also the European Capital of Culture for 2018 but you can walk from either side of Valletta within 10-15 minutes!

Hey Rachel. That’s great, I hope you travel to Plovdiv ans love it. I was with my partner, but I would absolutely travel there as a solo female traveller. It’s a small and very friendly town. I always felt safe, even at night, and didn’t once feel uncomfortable. It depends how long you would be there, but definitely enough to keep you occupied for a few days :)

A month would be a really long time in Plovdiv. It’s a really cool place and there’s lots to do, but a week would be enough to see it. We spent just over a week there and we were working online for 4-5 hours per day and saw everything you read in this post, just to give you an idea. Nonetheless, it’s an awesome area and definitely don’t miss Bachkovo Monastery and the Fortress. Let me know how you like it!
