Hi Martin – it’s all relative. €55 per person per day is expensive if you compare it to the cost of other European destinations such as Poland, Bulgaria or Macedonia. In comparison to say France, Spain or Italy the price is similar.

Hi Nataliya – I think it really depends on where your accommodation is. If it’s in a city like Valletta then you’ll have no problem using public transport to get around. If you’re in a less well connected place, I’d recommend hiring a car.

We plan on going to Malta and Gozo end Sept till Oct 2019. I’m hoping it will still be warm. We chose that time of the year as it is out of high season and hoping for better prices. Plane tickets are booked but we still have to decide on accommodation. Marina

Sounds really cool! I wish we’d spent more time on Gozo – possibly our only regret about Malta.

Was lucky enough to go to Malta a few years ago. Really loved heading out to Gozo.
Ended up doing a tour”ish” kind of a boat deal that went from port to Blue hole, Gozo, and the arch.

Was great if cause we only had 3 days.

The buses on Malta are excellent, so you would easily be able to get around the island by bus. The buses are very regular and have routes everywhere. You can also get a week-long bus pass which is cheaper too. However, hiring a car would be more comfortable and allow you more flexibility. We travelled only by bus during our 2-week holiday though.
