In reply to Travis Hatter. Hi Travis - They're absolutely beautiful! Eco Filtro have a Guatemala online shop and a Europe online store but I'm not sure that they ship to Ecuador. I'd recommend sending them an email to see if it's possible!

Hiciste un trabajo fantástico, te felicito. Yo soy guatemalteco, puro chapin del area quekchí en Alta Verapaz. Quiero contarte llevo algunos años usando el ecofiltro y ha sido un gran ahorro para nuestro bolsillo, pues los garrafones de agua salen bastantes caros con relación a consumo y el sabor inclusive es mucho mejor que el agua de algunas empresas que lo fabrican y embotellan. Quiero agradecerte en la manera que has descrito este hermoso trabajo por el bienestar de las familias guatemaltecas, como el medio ambiente es favorecido. ¡Un fraternal abrazo y grande!

How could we go about purchasing some water systems from you on our trip to Guatemala this summer.
We will be staying in Antigua for a day before traveling to Patzicia where we will be working with a rural school.
It looks like the outer container can be painted. This could be a great project for the kids and the school and then take it home to for their families to use.

Hey, really interesting article! and loving your Guatemala articles in general! I’ll be there in a few weeks for 2 weeks or so and this article makes me want to visit the factory. I’m an English Engineer who spent a lot of time in South (but not central) America travelling in the past, but I want to begin contributing in a more meaningful sense on future travels (especially as I am starting to feel quite guilty about the amount that I fly). It’s amazing how little the global water issue is understood, especially for those of us based in countries where clean water at the tap has been a given for our whole lives.

In reply to Sharon. Yes, the water situation is terrible in Guatemala. Many tourists and locals get ill from drinking unfiltered water, so it's really great to see the work being done to remedy this situation. And yes, Edgar Chipix has some amazing work.
