Under the thin layer of smog that constantly hovers on the Hong Kong skyline sits the Chi Lin nunnery. The golden pavilion, known as the Pavilion of Absolute Perfection, is striking against the grey clouds and grey apartment buildings that are stacked on the hills behind it. Grandeur and mundanity are in direct contrast, you think, unsure whether to be overwhelmed by the traditional temple in front of you or the modern blocks in the distance.

    1. Have a lovely time! I look forward to reading your thoughts on it. I actually didn’t really like Hong Kong.. I thought it was too commercial, and waay too expensive. But I did enjoy this temple and I also heard there is some great walking to be done if you have time (which we unfortunately didn’t).
